This birdhouse is much smaller than our usual designs. The building itself is 6" x 6" x 11" tall. It sits on a 9" x 9" base It has the classic Federal style peaked-top windows and four columns in front. It also has the molded edges of the roof line.

The siding is red oak, painted with antique white exterior paint and then distressed for a weeathered look. The way we distressed this, the edges of each siding board are accentuated,, and the windows as well, showing the natural beauty of these hardwoods.

The window peaks are mahogany and the rest of the trim is cherry. The basic box is made of Southern Yellow Pine. The foundation is also pine, hand-carved and each stone hand-painted for a real stone look. The shrubbery is real moss, coated with polyurethane. The whole house is ccoated with several coats of Spar Polyurethane that will hold up for years.

This has a beautiful roofline, as this aerial shot shows. And here's what it looks like on a misty morning on our beloved Covenant Farm.
